چکیده
The Global Navigation Satellite System-Reflections (GNSS-R) signal has been confirmed to be used retrieve sea level height. At present, the GNSS-Interferometric Reflectometry (GNSS-IR) technology based on least square method process signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) data is restricted by satellite elevation angle in terms of accuracy and stability. This paper proposes a new GNSS-IR model combining variational mode decomposition (VMD) for height estimation. VMD decompose SNR into intrinsic functions (IMF) layers with different frequencies, remove IMF representing trend item data, reconstruct remaining components obtain oscillation item. In order verify validity model, measurement provided Onsala Space Observatory Sweden evaluate performance algorithm its stability high range. experimental results show that good stability, advantages compared other methods. For half-year GNSS root mean error (RMSE) correlation coefficient are 4.86 cm 0.97, respectively.

Sea Level Monitoring Using a Gnss-based Tide Gauge
A continuous monitoring of sea level changes is important for human society since more than 50% of the world’s population live within 60 km of the coast. Sea level is traditionally observed with tide gauges that give measurements relative to the Earth’s crust. To improve the understanding of sea level changes it is necessary to perform measurements with respect to the Earth’s center of gravity....
متن کاملSea Surface Roughness Estimation Using Signals from Multiple GNSS Satellites
Global Navigation Satellite System reflectometry (GNSS-R) has recently drawn significant attention since it can be employed in a range of applications including sea state, ocean altimetry, soil moisture measurement, and disaster (e.g. flooding, bushfire, and earthquake) monitoring. Although research on GNSS-R in the past two decades has made advances, there are no (or few) real applications of ...
متن کاملSea level observations using multi-system GNSS reflectometry
Information on sea level and its changes are important in connection to global climate change processes. For centuries, sea level has been observed with coastal tide gauges and since some decades with satellite altimetry. Furthermore, during recent years the application of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) reflectometry, also known as GNSS-R, for sea level observations has been develope...
متن کاملA Gnss-based Tide Gauge for Local Sea Level Monitoring
It is important for human society to continuously monitor the sea level, since more than 50% of the world’s population live within 60 km of the coast [1]. Moreover, global climate change is believed to result in the melting of large masses of ice in Polar Regions. This will bring freshwater into the ocean [2] and thus change the sea level [3]. The traditional way to observe sea level is with ti...
متن کاملEvaluation of empirical mode decomposition for quantifying multi-decadal variations and acceleration in sea level records
The ability of empirical mode decomposition (EMD) to extract multi-decadal variability from sea level records is tested using three simulations: one based on a series of purely sinusoidal modes, one based on scaled climate indices of El Niño and the Pacific decadal oscillation (PDO), and the final one including a single month with an extreme sea level event. All simulations include random noise...
